I never dreamed that I would be a guest on the same podcast that has featured an all-star list of some of my favorite authors including Dean Koontz, Daniel Handler (aka Lemony Snicket), Lee Kravetz & Jacqueline Mitchard. Wow! Such an honor. I loved getting to dive into the nitty-gritty elements of craft and story. We discussed the opening paragraphs of four of my short stories from the collection and how these first paragraphs set the stage for the unfolding stories.

My YA novel BEFORE & AFTER YOU & ME will be published by Owl Hollow Press in 2023!! I have been working on this book for many years and it has gone through many iterations, but this kernel remains the same: an accident happens in the first chapter, and the story is told in alternating "before" & "after" chapters. And it is still a book about grief, regret, love, and the healing power of creating art.
